Reiki is a valuable resource for animals and our world. It is a gentle, effective, holistic healing method and an easy and accessible introduction to dimensions of healing that are not well known in our 21st century Western culture. Animals readily accept Reiki and often come to seek out it on their own. With Reiki the practitioner acts as a conduit for the healing energy of the universe to move through her hands to her animal or human client, causing a shift toward health at the deepest levels. The beauty of Reiki as a healing system for animals is that it is simple, non-invasive, and stress-free, yet highly effective.
Reiki is practiced throughout the world, including at over 300 major hospitals and medical centers in the U.S. For a long time it was available only to humans, but now increasing numbers of Reiki healers are establishing practices devoted exclusively to animals. At last count almost 100 U.S. veterinarians belonging to the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association (AHVMA) listed Reiki as one of the treatments they offer to animals.
Reiki is a vibrational “frequency” that is readily understood and appreciated by an animal, allowing him to deepen his relationship with the healer as he joins in a healing partnership. Reiki can be given at a distance, and there is great flexibility in how a treatment can be given, so that with Reiki animals do not have to be confined or restrained to receive healing. This means that many animals who cannot be approached or handled such as aggressive, severely abused, frightened or wild animals can be treated effectively with Reiki. The healer works with the animal to determine the most comfortable way for him to receive a treatment; the animal retains a large degree of control over his own process of healing and becomes an active and willing partner in the healing process.
For many people Reiki provides an introduction to more subtle aspects of our world, including a heightened ability to understand, sense and direct energy; deeper and more accurate intuition; and often a degree of communication with other species at a non-verbal, “energetic” or “telepathic” level. Whether it is a step on the path of learning or a destination itself, Reiki offers new adventures, a deeper understanding of energy and other subtle phenomena, and many healing benefits for animals and our world. |
